Martha Piper – Vice-Chair

Martha Piper is the former president of The University of British Columbia. She is currently chair of the board of the National Institute for Nanotechnology and serves on the boards of various other foundations, corporations and organizations, including the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and the Institute for Research on Public Policy.

Martha Piper received her PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics from McGill University and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, an officer in the Order of Canada, and a member of the Order of British Columbia. She was appointed as an honorary fellow of Merton College, University of Oxford, in 2007.
