Increasing Text Size

To increase the text size on the Web pages, you can change the settings in your browser. Follow the instructions below based on the browser you are using, or see your browser's Help files for details.

Internet Explorer

  1. Select "View" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Text Size."
  3. Select "Larger" or "Largest."

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select "View" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Text Size."
  3. Select "Increase."
  4. To increase the text size further, continue selecting "Increase."

Opera

  1. Select "View" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Zoom."
  3. From the menu, select the size with which you would like to view the website.
  4. To increase the text size further, increase the percentage.

Netscape

  1. Select "View" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Text Size."
  3. From the menu, select the size with which you would like to view the website.

Alternative Formats

Information throughout the website is provided in XHTML as the primary format. In some cases, other software formats are provided as alternatives. To open these alternate formats, you may need to download and install one or more of the following on your computer:

Search Help – How to search the website

Type word(s) into the Search box and click the Search button. If you type multiple words, pages containing all your search words will be returned.

Use the following commands to create more precise searches in the search box:

Use To Find
and

Pages containing all of your search words.

For example, typing rural and health will only return pages that contain both of these words.

" " (quotation marks)

Pages containing an exact phrase.

For example, typing "rural health" will only return pages that contain the phrase "rural health".

not

Pages without a particular word.

For example, typing cancer not colorectal will return pages that contain the word cancer but not the word colorectal.

To expand your search using synonyms or alternate spellings, try the following commands in the Search box:

Use To Find
or

Pages containing at least one of your search words.

For example, typing ASA or aspirin will return pages that contain one or both terms.

* (wildcard)

Pages containing a word that matches your search word where you have substituted several letters.

For example, typing alcoho* will return pages containing the words alcohol, alcoholics, alcoholism.

The search engine will return both exact matches and variations of the terms. For example, for the term depression, the search will retrieve pages containing depression, depressed, and depressive.

Searches aren't case-sensitive; using the words geriatrics, geriatrics, and Geriatrics will return the same results.
